This week has been very exciting. I have spent my days having a blast with my son, Tommy. We have had an exciting adventure each day. It has really meant a lot to me. The memories will be treasured forever. I have had the pleasure and joy of doing some "first time" things with him. For me, this is so important because I have missed so many "first time" things. On the other hand, I've also been getting daily updates from Terry who is on a mission trip in Guatemala. She is with a variety of people that have made up one heck of a team. In the last 2 days they have performed a dental clinic in the village of Pueblo Nuevo. They have extracted, filled and cleaned teeth for 80 people in 2 days. They actually had to turn people away due to not having enough time to treat all of them. Besides this, they have visited another village that we are interested in beginning out reach efforts in, and are visiting and volunteering at orphanages and special needs group homes for children. I had so many emotions about this week due to the fact that I could not be in Guatemala with my wife and our ministry doing these things with the team and sharing this with Terry and Tommy. But now that it's done, I'm so thankful that God knows what he's doing, because I surely don't. I would have missed out on all the things that me and Tommy have shared together and really would not have impacted the trip in an effective way. Could you imagine me trying to be helpful at a dental clinic? Disaster, huh?
Thanks to all of those who have been praying for us this week!

Wishful thinking
I realize that everyone has moments in there life when they are separated from loved ones. It may be due to business trips, vacation or like in my case, a mission trip. I would really LOVE to be in Guatemala right now with my wife, however, I understand that keeping the best interest in mind for those we are reaching out to is the priority here. Unless I was a doctor, my presence would not benefit anyone. It does not make it easy though. I know that the team of people she is working with will do a great job in reaching out to those in need and that God will be on the move with all of them. Please keep Across All Borders team lifted in prayer this week. God Bless!

Cardboard Testimonies
Sunday at our church, we had a cardboard testimony service. This was a blessing to see how God has been working in the lives of these people. As I sat through this, reading each testimony, I thought about how many cardboard tabs I would need to really share all of the things Christ has done in my life. Have you really ever thought about how many people in the world do not know about HIS saving grace and the love of Jesus Christ? Have you ever really thought about how many people DO know about HIS saving grace and the love of Jesus Christ and still do not seek it? We all have a responsibility as Christians to share our testimonies yet we fail at times when we have the oppurtunity because we are so wrapped in our on things. This is something I need to improve on and the blessing I received from our service on Sunday put this into perspective for me.

Family Day
Today marks 2 years that I picked up Terry and Tommy from the airport to start our family with all of us of together. I can still remember how nervous I was the days leading up to that day, "Our Family Day." Being a father is truly amazing. To see the impact I have on his life surely puts things in perspective for me. I want nothing more than to do the absolute very best I can as a father. It pleases me to see him learn new things and do new things, but that also reminds me of the fact that he won't be a baby for long. These years are priceless and I just want to soak them all in.
Today, I took him for a haircut and he was a perfect little gentleman. I can remember, when I was little that I basically had to be bribed to sit still for a barber. Tommy just sits perfectly still until the barber is finished. He did something today that was one of those moments that I just want a video camera. The barber finished cutting his hair, removed the cape and ask Tommy, "How's that?" Tommy raised his head and looked in the mirror and replied, "It's perfect." I love these moments and Thank God for allowing me to have them.

Multi-tasking moment
I'm always working on several things at one time. I may be working on as many as 3 or 4 projects at once and usually the results are good. Sometimes I may lose focus on simple things. Today, I was in a very busy Wal Mart making a random market check and before leaving, I decide to go wash my hands before leaving the store. As I walk through the store, I'm reading email on my phone. I walk across the front of the store and enter the restroom. I put my phone away and set my binder on the counter. As I start to wash my hands, I notice that there are stalls around the URINALS. I thought, that's weird! Then reality sets in, I'M IN THE WOMEN'S RESTROOM IN A WAL MART! I grab my binder and barely dab off my hands which are dripping with soap suds and try to walk out without being noticed. Yeah Right, HUH? We are talking about Wal Mart. I just acted natural (as possible in this situation) and walked out and went directly into the men's restroom and finished washing my hands. Very AWKWARD multi-tasking moment!

Welcome to my blog. I really don't have any idea what I may write about with each post. It may be interesting or serious or possibly the most bizarre thing you can imagine. Needless to say, I'll have fun sharing whatever it may be with anyone who's interested in reading it. Your opinions (comments) are welcome unless it offends me, then I'll delete it and write about you on my blog. That's funny! Anyway, I look forward to sharing my moments with you. Until next time, be blessed!
